Privacy Policy
What we store, why, and for how long
1. Who we are
Quantum Servers operates the Quantum Minecraft server, this website, and our Discord. We’re a small independent server, not a company with a data protection department, and this policy is written to be read rather than to satisfy a lawyer.
Privacy questions: [email protected]
2. What we store
Account identifiers
- Your Minecraft UUID
- Your current username. Older usernames may survive in moderation and support records.
- For Bedrock players, the Floodgate identifier and prefixed username
- Your Discord ID, if you link it
Connection logs
- IP addresses used to connect, with timestamps
We keep these to investigate ban evasion, alt abuse, and attacks on the server. They are not used for anything else and are never shared for marketing.
Gameplay and moderation
- Playtime, rank progress, balance, homes, teams, pets, and similar game state
- Ban and mute history, with reasons and timestamps
- Block placement and removal logs, kept so that griefing can be rolled back
- Chat messages caught by our automated filter, and chat quoted in a report or appeal
Support and appeals
- Emails you send us, and anything you attach to them
- Discord tickets and their transcripts
If you subscribe to Nova
- The email address that made the purchase
- An order reference and subscription status
- The Minecraft account the perks were applied to
3. What we don’t store
- Card details. Never. Payments are handled entirely by our payment provider and card numbers never reach our systems.
- A full archive of in-game chat. We don’t log every message.
- Voice. We don’t currently run voice chat and record nothing.
- Anything for advertising. We don’t profile you, don’t build audiences, and don’t run ads.
- Special category data. We don’t ask for or want information about your health, beliefs, ethnicity, sexuality, or anything comparable.
4. Why we store it
To run the server, to keep it usable, and for nothing else:
- Identifying your account and restoring your progress when you log in
- Investigating cheating, exploits, ban evasion, and attacks on the server
- Rolling back griefing where a rollback is warranted
- Answering support requests and reviewing ban appeals
- Processing subscription payments and handling refunds or disputes
5. Who else sees it
We don’t sell your information and we don’t share it for marketing. A limited number of services necessarily process some of it:
- Our payment provider, for subscriptions. They hold the payment data we deliberately don’t.
- Our hosting and network providers, including the proxy that protects the server from attack, which necessarily sees connection traffic.
- Discord, for anything that happens on our Discord server. Their privacy policy governs it, not ours.
- Law enforcement, where we’re legally required to, or where someone is in danger.
6. How long we keep it
Only as long as it’s useful. Current targets:
- Connection and IP logs — up to 12 months
- Block logs — up to 6 months
- Filter-caught chat — up to 6 months
- Support and appeal emails — up to 24 months
- Ban and mute records — kept while the account exists, since a ban has to outlive its own log
- Subscription records — kept as long as required for tax and accounting purposes
- Game state — kept while the account exists
Records connected to an active investigation, appeal, or payment dispute are kept until it’s resolved. Backups roll over on their own schedule, so deleted data can persist in a backup for a short period afterwards.
7. Security
The server is not directly reachable from the internet; connections arrive through a proxy so that our infrastructure isn’t exposed. Administrative access is limited to people who need it. Payment data is never stored on our systems at all.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever have a breach affecting your data, we’ll say so publicly and directly, promptly, and describe exactly what was involved.
8. Your rights
Whatever your jurisdiction, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct something that’s wrong
- Delete your data
Email [email protected] with your Minecraft username and what you’re asking for. We aim to respond within 30 days.
We may need to verify it’s you before handing over account-linked information such as IP history — usually by asking you to confirm from the account itself. That protects you, not us.
Two limits. We can’t delete records we need to keep a ban enforceable, or records tied to an unresolved payment dispute. And deleting your data means losing your progress, so we’ll confirm before we do it.
9. Players under 13
Quantum is for players 13 and over, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone younger. Minecraft doesn’t tell us how old anyone is, so we rely on this rule rather than verification.
If you’re a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 is playing here, email us and we’ll remove the account and its data.
10. Changes
We’ll update this page when things change and update the date at the top. Material changes are announced in Discord, and if you subscribe to Nova, by email.
